Why Membership Matters

In the New Testament, following Jesus is never a solo project. Believers are called into a family, a body, a people—a committed community that worships together, learns together, serves together, and cares for one another.

Church membership is how we formally commit to that shared life.
Becoming a member means:

• Affirming the gospel and the teaching of the church

• Belonging to a specific body of believers

• Participating in the mission God has given this church

• Submitting to loving shepherding and offering yourself to serve others

Membership is not about perks or status—it’s about partnership. It is saying, “This will be my church. These will be my people. I will follow Jesus with them.”

Your First Step: Attend a Membership Class

Several times each year we offer a Membership Class designed to help you understand:

• What we believe

• How our church is structured

• What it means to be a member

• How you can be involved

This class is informal, relational, and full of opportunities for questions. Attending the class doesn’t obligate you—it's simply the first step in exploring membership.

The Membership Pathway

After attending the Membership Class, here’s what the process looks like:

1. Meet With a Pastor

A casual conversation where you can share your testimony, ask questions, and discuss any pastoral care needs.

2. Meet With the Deacons

Our deacons help care for the congregation. This meeting ensures you’re known, welcomed, and supported.

3. Baptism (If Needed)

If you haven’t yet been baptized as a believer, we will walk with you through this joyful step of obedience.

4. Congregational Affirmation

At a members’ meeting, the congregation will joyfully affirm you into membership, welcoming you into the family.

5. Serve and Disciple

Membership isn’t the finish line—it’s the beginning.
As a member, you join us in serving, discipling others, praying, growing, and helping our church flourish in Christ.
